MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Clarence J. Mayfield, 79, of Marble Hill passed away Sunday, May 29, 2016, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 1, 1937, in Hurricane, Missouri, son of Melvin and Mahala Welker Mayfield.
Clarence worked as a laborer at various pallet/sawmills in the area and was a member of Hurricane Fork General Baptist Church.
Survivors include two brothers, Lester (Margaret) Mayfield of Scott City and Donald (Marlene) Mayfield of Patton, Missouri; a nephew, Mark Mayfield; a niece, Carrie Mayfield; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and two aunts.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Verla Sutton and Mable Patton.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill and after 10 a.m. Thursday at Hurricane Fork General Baptist Church.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Revs. Jimmie Fulbright and Phillip Jordan officiating. Burial will be in the Hurricane Fork Cemetery near Marble Hill.
