Clarence A. Loos, 83, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., died Saturday, June 24, 2000, at Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 18, 1916, in rural Jackson, son of Conrad and Annie Bock Loos. He and Elnor Pittman were married Oct. 3, 1939. She died in June 1967. He and Ailene Barringer were married Jan. 18, 1969. She survives.
Loos was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church on March 29, 1931. He was a member of the Men's Club at the church and served as usher there for many years.
He began working for the Golden Crain Creamery at age 9. He worked there for 35 years, later becoming the plant manager for the company, which had been purchased by Sugar Creek Creamery.
In 1961, he was honored for distinguished service as president of the Missouri Butter and Cheese Institute. He later owned and operated the Shaul Manufacturing Co.
Other survivors include two daughters, Sondra Deimund of Cape Girardeau and Diann McCray of Springfield, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Myra Gordon of Paducah, Ky.; a brother, Henry Loos of Cape Girardeau; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. David Hintz officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
