CHAFFEE -- Clarence Ledas Hindman, 76, Chaffee Route 1, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 1997, at his home.
He was born Nov. 14, 1920, at Brownwood, son of Harry and Ruby Hopkins Hindman. He and Cecilia A. Griffin were married Aug. 12, 1939.
Hindman was co-owner and operator of Hindman Brothers Lumber Co. in Chaffee. He was a member of VFW Post 3127. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Charles Hindman of Chaffee; two daughters, Glenda Pobst and Virginia Harris of Chaffee; four sisters, Betty Halter and Sybol Aiello of Chaffee, Twila Hansen of St. Louis, Elwanda Hawkins of Reno, Nev.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel at Chaffee from 4:30-8:30 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, with the Rev. Allen Saunders officiating. Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery.
