Clarence J. Greaser Jr., 97, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born Oct. 24, 1925, in Cape Girardeau to Clarence J. and Veronica LaCroix Greaser. He and Martha Ann Bollinger were married May 22, 1954, in Benton, Missouri.
He served in the Army as a paratrooper during World War II from 1944 to 1946.
Junior was a graduate of Chaffee (Missouri) High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University.
He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years, and as a carpenter for Southeast Missouri State University and Midamerica Hotels.
He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral and a Sir Knight of Knights of Columbus Council 1111.
Junior loved life, and everyone who knew him never had an unkind word to say about him, nor did he have an unkind word to say about others. He loved fishing, carpentry, watching sports -- especially St. Louis Cardinals baseball -- and spending time with his family. A harder working man the world has never seen.
Above all else, he loved his family with unconditional love, and he was the most devoted husband that a woman could ever have hoped for. If you met Junior, he would undoubtedly tell you that he is the father of eight boys.
Throughout his entire life, he had unwavering devotion to the Catholic Church and God. He was also very proud of his service to his country in WWII.
Survivors include eight sons, Ronald Greaser, Kevin (Linda) Greaser, Alan (Steve Emmons) Greaser, Jeffrey Greaser, Daryl (Colleen Powderly) Greaser, Steven (Deborah) Greaser, Eric (Kristen) Greaser and Bryan (Nancy) Greaser; two sisters, Edna Smith and Audrey (Larry) Humes; 13 grandchildren, T.J.
