ULLIN, Ill. - Clarence O. Anderson, 78, of Cairo, formerly of Ullin, died Thursday, Feb. 13, at the Community Health Services in Cairo.
He was born Nov. 15, 1913, in Johnson County, Ill., to Almus and Effie Casey Anderson.
On Sept. 26, 1953, Anderson married Iris Faye Severs in Johnson County. She survives, along with one daughter, Darlene DeVault of Cairo; one son, Kevin Anderson of DeSoto, Ill., three sisters, Nellie Ffers of Lincoln, Ill., Gelena Jobe of Marion, Ill., and Ora McHugh of Peoria, Ill. Also surviving are three grandchildren.
Anderson was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ullin, and a member of a construction union, Local 1330, in Anna, Ill. Anderson was a retired construction laborer.
Friends may call at the Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, at the Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge, with the Rev. William Gholsen officiating. Burial will be in the Ullin Cemetery.
