JACKSON -- Clarence Allen of Route 1, Patton, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 1991, at St. Francis Medical Center.

Allen, 81, was born Jan. 25, 1910, at Whitewater, son of Albert Martin Allen and Nora Belle Devore Allen.

He was married Jan. 7, 1933, to Noma Crites. She survives.

Other survivors include four sons, Martin Allen of Sikeston, Roy Allen, Patton, David Allen and Tom Allen, both of Jackson; five daughters, Marie Ruester of Jackson, Eloise Forrest of St. Louis, Helen Cook, Sedgewickville; Marilyn Mayfield and Debbie Freund, both of Jackson; two half brothers, Clyde Neader of Pocahontas and Boyd Neader, of Arnold; sister, Lucille Crites, Manchester, Mo.; 23 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; 17 great grand children; and 10 step great grandchildren.

He lived in Cape Girardeau and Bollinger counties all his life, moving to the Patton farm in 1954.

He worked at the former International Shoe Co. from 1935 to 1947. He also had a sorghum mill which he operated until 1972.

He was a member of Little Whitewater Baptist Church 27 years, where he was a deacon and adult men's class teacher.

Service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at McCombs Funeral Home at Jackson, with the Rev. Don Estes, and the Dan Upchurch officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sedgewickville.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 8 p.m. today.
