VILLA RIDGE, Ill. -- Clara A. Spaulding, 82, of Villa Ridge, died Monday, June 3, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born Sept. 7, 1913, at Bertrand, daughter of Arthur Needham and Lular Estelle Cowell Clayton. She and John W. Spaulding were married Nov. 8, 1941, in Cairo...

VILLA RIDGE, Ill. -- Clara A. Spaulding, 82, of Villa Ridge, died Monday, June 3, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Sept. 7, 1913, at Bertrand, daughter of Arthur Needham and Lular Estelle Cowell Clayton. She and John W. Spaulding were married Nov. 8, 1941, in Cairo.

Spaulding had been a registered nurse at the former TB Sanatorium in Cairo. She attended Villa Ridge Union Church.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Robert "Bob" and Bill Spaulding of Villa Ridge; three sisters, Beatrice Leible and Stella Bryant of Sikeston, Mo., Mary Sullivan of Herrin, and four grandchildren.

Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge after 5 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Wyatt officiating. Burial will be in Cobden Cemetery at Cobden.
