Clara R. Schabbing, 88, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003, at her residence.
She was born June 18, 1914, daughter of Herman and Mary E. Volz Schabbing. Clara and her sister, Dorothy, lived on the family farm home place all their lives. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral and Council of Catholic Women.
Survivors include two sisters, Rose M. Gregg of Jackson and Dorothy M. Schabbing of Cape Girardeau; three nephews and their wives, Charles and Pat Schabbing of Cape Girardeau, William and Carol Schabbing of Jackson and Michael and Patty Gregg of St. Louis; eight great-nephews and a great-niece.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Rudolph and Clem Schabbing; and a sister, Gertrude Schabbing.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel with Msgr. Richard Rolwing officiating. Burial will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery.
