ADVANCE, Mo. -- Clara Rita Nall, 86, died Thursday, July 6, 2000, at Advance Nursing Center.
She was born Sept. 4, 1913, near Advance, daughter of John F. and Maude Sample VanGennip. She and James Truman Nall were married Dec. 6, 1934, at Bloomfield. He died Sept. 9, 1976.
Nall was a lifelong resident of the Advance area. She was employed several years at Jay-Allen-Ward Shoe Co. in Advance, and later was a licensed practical nurse at Bond Nursing Home in Marble Hill.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph's Women's Council and Quilting Club. She was a past president of Advance Senior Citizens, and former member of Daughters of Isabella and Cursillo.
Nall attended St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau after moving to a retirement center there in January 1996.
Survivors include three sons, Edward Nall of Torrance, Calif., James Nall of Advance, Joseph Nall of Scott City; two daughters, Nell Griffith of Cape Girardeau, Mari Womack of San Pedro, Calif.; two brothers, Paul and Grant VanGennip of Advance; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Church, with the Rev. Frederick Lutz officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
