POPLAR BLUFF -- Clara Beulah Metje, 91, of Poplar Bluff died Wednesday, July 21, 1999, at Westwood Hills Health Care Center.
She was born Oct. 29, 1907, near Upalika. She first married Ernest Lawson, who died in 1936; then John F. Aaron, who died in 1963; and later married Eldon Metje, who died in 1978.
Metje was a nurse aide at Cape LaCroix Nursing Home in Cape Girardeau, retiring in 1992. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include two sons, Deloy Lawson of Jonesboro, Ark., Tom Lawson of Poplar Bluff; a stepson, Gary Metje of Cape Girardeau; a stepdaughter, Carolyn Nickens of Elsberry; two brothers, Roy Berry of St. Peters, Basil Berry of Neelyville; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and six stepgrandchildren.
Friends may call at Cotrell Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
