CLARA CANNON

ESSEX -- Funeral service for Clara Cannon of Essex will be held at 2 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter. Dale Grissom will officiate, with burial in Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter.

Cannon, 73, died Tuesday, April 12, 1994, at Doctors Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

She was born Oct. 13, 1920, in Kaiser, Ark., daughter of Henry and Leona Matthews McClung. She and Lance Cannon were married July 20, 1940, in Osceola, Ark.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Malcolm Cannon of Essex; a daughter, Sheila Turner of Okinawa, Japan; four brothers, Oliver McClung of Sikeston, Bill McClung of Hayti, Clarence McClung of Paragould, Ark., Joseph McClung of Walnut Ridge, Ark.; a sister, Mary Fields of Dupo, Ill.; four grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a son and two brothers.
