Clara Fay Bierschwal, 74, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013, at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born July 7, 1938, in Oklahoma, to John and Abbey House Sharp. She and Gale L. Bierschwal were married Oct. 3, 1961, in Cape Girardeau. He survives.
Clara's employment included the Lutheran Home as a nurse's aide, Southeast Hospital as a cook, former veterinary clinic of Dr. Hathaway as a vet assistant and warehouse crew at Blair Industries, retiring in the mid-1990s. She was also a licensed beautician, although she never pursued a cosmetology career.
Loving survivors include three sons, John (Lisa) Burkhart, George Bierschwal and James Bierschwal, all of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren, Charlee Byington, William Long, Janet and Darryl Bethany, Ben Harmon, Felicia Bierschwal and Junior Bookwalter; and three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Braedyn and Keandre.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Kay Burkhart; a grandson, August C. Bierschwal; and her parents.
A private memorial service will be held.
