Cindy M. Poole, 52, of Jackson, beloved mother of Rachal Learue and Joey Poole, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010, in Wayne County, Mo., as a result of a fatal vehicle accident.

She was born Oct. 1, 1958, in Cape Girardeau, to Herman John and Neva M. Fredrick Vetter.

Cindy was raised in the Bell City, Mo., area and was a 1976 graduate of Bell City High School. She earned a degree in practical nursing in 1981 at the former Sikeston Hospital School of Nursing. She then worked many years in home health. She earned a bachelor of science degree in psychology from Southeast Missouri State University in 2004. The past two years she worked at Missouri Veterans Clinic in Cape Girardeau.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Loving survivors include a daughter, Rachal Learue (Thomas Whittaker) and children Scott, Devin, Bethani, Logan, Alex and Levi of Jackson; a son, Joey Poole (girlfriend Jessica) of Old Appleton, Mo.; her father, Herman Vetter of Bell City; a brother, Lon R. (Evelyn) Vetter of West Plains, Mo.; and a sister, Shirley Owen of Poplar Bluff, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Neva Vetter; a brother, Daniel Vetter; infant brother, Gary Vetter; and son-in-law, Shannon Learue.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. Deacon Walt Biri will lead parish prayers at 5:30, followed by the rosary.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Church, with the Rev. John Harth officiating. Interment will follow in Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
