CAIRO, Ill. -- Christine Wolford, 83, of rural Cairo, formerly of Dorena, Mo., died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at the Daystar Care Center in Cairo.
She was born Feb. 27, 1921, in Dorena, daughter of Albert and Ida Newman Cole. She and Aaron Fern Wolford were married April 10, 1937. He died April 1, 1986.
She was a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church in Tamms, Ill., and had lived in rural Cairo for the past several years.
Survivors include four sons, Wilbert and Marvin Wolford, both of Cairo, Billy J. Wolford of Murray, Ky., George A. Wolford of Cordova, Tenn.; two sisters, Ella Bradley of Fulton, Ky., Della Dunnegan of San Antonio, Texas; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, Mo.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel, with Eugene Hart and Clint Nale officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.
