CHRISTINE M. RESSEL

KELSO -- Christine Mary Ressel, 95, of Kelso, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 1994, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Dec. 16, 1898, at Benton, daughter of Frank and Mary Wiedefeld Diebold. She and John Ressel were married Jan. 28, 1919. He died Oct. 30, 1971.

Ressel had worked at Thorngate Ltd. in Chaffee 10 years. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and its Ladies Sodality, and Senior Citizens of Kelso.

Survivors include two sons, Wilfred and Jerome Ressel of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Marian Essner of Kelso, Norma Blattel of Chaffee; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a son, five brothers, three sisters and two grandchildren.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Augustine Church. Msgr. John Westhues will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Scott City after 4 p.m. Friday. The rosary will be at 7, and Knights of Columbus service at 7:30.
