SIKESTON -- Christine Daniels Hayes, 71, formerly of Matthews, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 1997, at her home in Clermont, Fla.
She was born July 2, 1926, in Lawrenceburg, Tenn., daughter of J. R. and Maude Newton Daniels.
She married Ronald D. Hayes Sept. 19, 1974. He survives.
She was co-owner of a tanning and nail salon, where she had worked as a licensed cosmetologist.
She is survived by a son, Russell Hayes, of Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter, Tamela Maly of Largo, Fla.; a brother, Charles Daniels of Matthews; a sister, Martha Wilton of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and a grandson.
She was preceded in death by two sisters.
Service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, with the Rev. Mike Cartwright, pastor of the Assembly of God Church of Canalou, officiating. Burial will be in Matthews Cemetery.
