ORAN, Mo. -- Chris F. Trankler, 90, of Oran died Thursday, April 4, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Feb. 22, 1912, at Leopold, Mo., son of William J. and Mina Brands Trankler. He and Agnes Vandermierden were married June 7, 1939, at Glennon, Mo.
Trankler was a retired self-employed farmer. He was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church and its St. Joseph Sodality.
Survivors include his wife; eight sons, Henry Trankler of Oran, Tee Trankler of Jackson, Mo., Edwin Trankler of St. Louis, James Trankler of Jackson, Charles Trankler of Oran, George Trankler of Oran, Frank Trankler of Jackson, David Trankler of Oran; two daughters, Wilma Seyer of Chaffee, Mo., Barbara Trankler of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Milford Trankler of St. Peters, Mo.; a sister, Marie Eftink of Oran; 23 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and nine great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clarence Trankler and Bill Trankler; a sister, Elma Welch; a grandson, Vernon Seyer; and a son-in-law, Ralph Seyer.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 4 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7, and Knights of Columbus prayer service at 7:30.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Guardian Angel Church, with the Rev. John Harth officiating. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Church Cemetery.
