MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Christopher Scott Liley, 52, of Marble Hill passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Feb. 28, 1963, in Cape Girardeau, son of W. Kenneth and Judith Charlene Dettmer Liley. He and Christa Barker were married Dec. 6, 1997.

Chris was vice president of Liley Family Enterprises, a past president of Mid-America Monument Builders Association (MAMBA), member of Monument Builders of North America, a licensed Missouri funeral director and member of Missouri Funeral Directors Association. He was also a charter member of Cottage of Grace General Baptist Church, where he served as Sunday-school superintendent, played guitar for the church choir and was a member of the bluegrass group Cabin Fever.

Chris loved to fish, hunt and spend time with his family and especially his granddaughters.

Survivors include his wife, Christa of the home; four sons, Joshua William Liley of St. Charles, Missouri, Adam Christopher (Nikki) Liley of Marble Hill, Joey (Jamie) Schag of Plano, Illinois, and Jason Schag of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Danielle Monique (Matt) Torbet of Cape Girardeau; his father, Kenneth (Judy) Liley of Marble Hill; and his mother, Judith (Tom) Scott of Ballwin, Missouri.

Also his grandmother, Dorothy Dettmer of Fredericktown, Missouri; three brothers, Michael Lynn (Tammy) Liley of Marble Hill, Eric (Lisa) Scott of O'Fallon, Missouri, and Aaron (Molly) Scott of Medford, Oregon; two sisters, Sherri (Jim) Michaels and Kim (Bob) Besterfeldt of St. Louis; five grandchildren, Alivia, Bella and Bentley Liley and Charlee and Cameron Schag; several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and a friend of many.

He was preceded in death by a child.

Chris and his family would like to thank Dr. Pewitt, Dr. Aranha and the staff at Saint Francis Cancer Institute.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested for Cottage of Grace General Baptist Church Building Fund or the American Cancer Society.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cottage of Grace Church, with the Revs. Monnie Jones, Naamon Eaker and Fred Ritter officiating. Entombment will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park near Marble Hill.
