Chloree "C" Williams, 96, of Jackson joined her Heavenly Father Friday, June 3, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born Sept. 17, 1908, at Rum Branch, daughter of Mayo C. and Naomi Tilley Strong. She and Earl Williams were married Feb. 12, 1931, in Jonesboro, Ill. He passed away March 13, 1970...

Chloree "C" Williams, 96, of Jackson joined her Heavenly Father Friday, June 3, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Sept. 17, 1908, at Rum Branch, daughter of Mayo C. and Naomi Tilley Strong. She and Earl Williams were married Feb. 12, 1931, in Jonesboro, Ill. He passed away March 13, 1970.

Mrs. Williams lived in Jackson most all of her married life. She was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church, a Friendship member of the Hope Circle, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, all in Jackson. She was also a charter member of the Bridge Club, which she took great joy in belonging to. In her younger years, Mrs. Williams took a very active part in school functions and activities.

Loving survivors include a daughter, June C. Williams of Jackson; a sister, Bernice Chastain of Jackson; and a niece, Judy Turgeon and husband Ron of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada.

She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4:30 to 8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Rice officiating.

Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to New McKendree United Methodist Church, Saint Francis Respiratory Therapy or the Alzheimer's Association.
