BLOOMFIELD -- Funeral service for Chief Petty Officer Randall Lynn Vandiver of Virginia Beach, Va., will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Chapel with full military rites. The Rev. Bill Pennington will officiate, with burial in Bloomfield Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today.
Vandiver, 36, died Friday, June 19, 1992, in a helicopter crash in Virginia Beach.
Vandiver was born April 10, 1956, at Sikeston, son of Grady and Bertie Grissom. He and the former Charlotte Cooper were married Dec. 21, 1974.
He had been in the U.S. Navy eight years.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Jason, and daughter, Tara, of the home; his parents of Bloomfield; two brothers, Kenneth and Jeff Vandiver of Bloomfield; a sister, Angie Mahaffey of Poplar Bluff, and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Grissom of Dresden, Tenn.
