SIKESTON -- Funeral for Martin Jewell "Chick" Ward Jr. of Sikeston will be held at 1 p.m. today at Blanchard Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Dennis Cebulak will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at the chapel from 11 a.m. until service time.
Ward, 63, died Sunday, April 9, 2000, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 24, 1936, at Wyatt, son of Martin Jewell "Pete" and Vernia Lorene Westmoland Ward.
Ward retired as a saw operator with Himmelberger-Harrison. He was a lifelong resident of the area, and member of Sikeston Eagles Aerie 3319.
Survivors include seven brothers, Sherman, Roger, Lonnie, Donnie and Roy Ward of Sikeston, James Ward of Rockford, Ill., Charles Ward of Oran; two sisters, Ola Pruett of Coos Bay, Ore., and Alice Ward of Sikeston.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and two sisters.
