CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Chester L. Morgan, 84, of Chaffee, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 13, 1916, at Chaonia, Mo., son of Jeff Lloyd and Annie Delilah Rievley Morgan.
He and Audrey Tanner were married May 4, 1935. She survives.
He worked as a pipefitter and welder supervisor before retiring. He was a member of Pipefitters Union 562 in St. Louis and the Chaffee VFW Post 3127.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife of Chaffee; a daughter, Bonnie Baird of Fort Collins, Colo.; two sisters, Beulah Sutterfield of Farmington, Mo., and Violet Strebler of Chaffee; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister and brother.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Gerald Collier officiating. Burial, with a full military service, will be at Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
