Cheryl Maynard

MARION, Ill. -- Cheryl Ann Maynard, 60, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, at Herrin Hospital.

Cheryl was born May 1, 1957, in Carbondale, Illinois, to Nolan Owen and Doris Mae (Cole) England. She married Wayne Maynard on June 25, 1977, in Marion.

Cheryl graduated from Marion High School, Class of 1975. She was a nurse faculty member at John A. Logan College and helped develop the Family Literacy Program there. Cheryl was also the director of nurses at a nursing home in West Frankfort, Illinois.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne Maynard of Marion; a daughter, Laura (Daniel) Leffler of Willow Hill, Illinois; her parents, Nolan and Doris England; a brother, David (Patti) England; a sister, Suzan (Troy) Ward; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Blue Funeral Home in Marion.

A funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mike Cash officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
