MCCLURE, Ill. -- Charlie Edmundson, 75, of McClure, died Monday, March 14, 1994, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Oct. 7, 1918, at McClure, son of Charlie and Maney Ahrens Edmundson. He was reared by his stepfather and mother, Houck and Maney Rose. He and Alma Irene Fornkahl were married Oct. 3, 1946, in Piggott, Ark. She died April 5, 1973.
Edmundson was employed by Cape Poster 25 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Edmundson of Cape Girardeau, Michael Edmundson of McClure; two daughters, Diana Edmundson of Cape Girardeau, Christy McAlister of McClure; four sisters, Ethel Schmidt of Roxana, Margaret Jordan of Tamms, Louella Craun of Oklahoma City, Okla., Ramona Siegfried of Alton, and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel in Cape Girardeau from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Cy Smith officiating. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery at McClure, with military rites by VFW Post 3838 of Cape Girardeau.
