OAK RIDGE, Mo. -- Funeral for Charles Zyrick Wipfler of Oak Ridge will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, Mo. Msgr. Edward Eftink will officiate. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.
Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until service time.
Wipfler, 80, died Wednesday, April 11, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 3, 1920, at Oran, Mo., son of John H. and Flora B. Kohm Wipfler. He and Onetta Bollinger were married Feb. 14, 1942. She died March 10, 1998.
Wipfler farmed in the Oak Ridge area all his life. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include two sons, Charles "Gerald" Wipfler of Scott City, Mo., Herman Wipfler of Saunemin, Ill.; a daughter, Joan Phillips of Oak Ridge; a sister, Agnes Wipfler of Oak Ridge; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister and a grandson.
