Charles Williams
CAIRO, Ill. -- Charles H. Williams, 69, of Okeechobee, Fla., formerly of Cairo, died Saturday, March 28, 2009.
He was born April 28, 1939, in Cairo, son of Charles Dennis and Lenna L. Hartman Williams. He married Janet Davidson.
Williams was a member of Oakview Baptist Church in Okeechobee. He was a real estate agent and opened Williams Pawn in Okeechobee in 1978. He was a lieutenant with Okeechobee Sheriff's Department Search and Rescue.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Brian Williams; and a granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son and a brother.
Visitation is from 5 p.m. to service time Wednesday at Bass Okeechobee Chapel.
The funeral will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with John Garrison officiating.
Visitation will continue with graveside service at 11 a.m. Friday at Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge, Ill., with the Rev. Jerry Gleason officiating.
Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo is in charge of local arrangements.
