MOUNDS, Ill. -- Funeral for Charles E. Wehrenberg Jr. of Mounds will be held at 2 p.m. today at Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds. The Rev. Jimmie E. Corbin will officiate. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery.

Wehrenberg, 85, died Tuesday, April 20, 1999, at Jackson Manor Nursing Home in Jackson, Mo.

He was born Oct. 10, 1913, in Mound City, son of Charles and Ida Mertz Wehrenberg Sr. His wife, Georgia Ruby, died in 1995.

Wehrenberg retired as a foreman with McKnight-Keaton Grocery Co.

Survivors include four daughters, Charlotte Palmer of Villa Ridge, Peggy Malina of Trenton, Mary Moss of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., Barbara Lindsey of Portageville, Mo.; a son, Richard Wehrenberg of Villa Ridge; a sister, Flora Cloe of Prescott, Ariz.; a brother, Robert Wehrenberg of Hannibal, Mo.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
