ANNA, Ill. -- Charles Dugan Tripp, 77, of Anna died Thursday, Feb. 13, 1997, at Jackson County Nursing Home in Murphysboro.
He was born Nov. 11, 1919, in Union County, son of Dugan and Agnes Highland Tripp. He and Mary Elvie Parker were married Sept. 8, 1939, in Jackson, Mo.
Tripp was employed 30 years with Illinois Department of Corrections at Menard Prison. He was a member of Anna Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Rosemary Menke of Lake George, Colo.; two brothers, Frank Tripp of Anna, Glenn Tripp of Cobden; four sisters, Mary Keith and Louise Rich of Anna, Catherine Dillow of Cobden, Betty Taylor of Tucson, Ariz.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by a grandson.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna from 5-8 p.m. Saturday.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Scott Harner officiating. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.
