CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Charles "Blue" Stringfellow, 76, of Chaffee died Saturday, May 29, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 4, 1927, at Chaffee, son of James and Nanny Smith Stringfellow. He and Irene Dennison were married April 13, 1962.
Stringfellow spent 23 years in the U.S. Army, serving in World War II, Korea and Vietnam and retiring in 1968. He worked in the warehouse at Procter & Gamble from 1969 to 1980. Stringfellow was a member of First General Baptist Church in Jackson. He was a past commander of Chaffee VFW Post 3127.
Survivors include his wife and a sister, Opal Coakley of Chaffee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
Graveside military rites will follow at 1 p.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, Mo. The Rev. Watis Harrell will officiate.
