ULLIN, Ill. -- Charles Stringer, 85, of Ullin died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 1999, at Union County Hospital in Anna.

He was born March 3, 1914, in Pulaski, son of Daniel Oscar and Mary Irena Rife Stringer. He and Mary Alice Stoner were married March 16, 1946.

Stringer was a member of Cross Roads United Methodist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Ullin Civic Club, and Farm Bureau.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Stephen Stringer of Vienna, David Stringer of Ullin; a daughter, Charlene McClendon of Ullin; and nine grandchildren.

Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Ullin after 5 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Revs. Rick Bishop and Richard Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens.
