Charles Franklin Stone, 72, of Belleville, Ill., died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, at his home.

He was born Oct. 10, 1935, at Fornfelt.

Charles was a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He was a former president of Missouri Manufactured Housing Association. He was also on the board of directors of First Service Bank in Crestwood, Mo. Charles enjoyed being a member of National Rifle Association and was a member of Aeroclub at Scott Air Force Base. He enjoyed traveling, fishing and hunting around the world with family and friends.

Survivors include loving daughters, Lisa Lynn (Ricky) Reid and Kimberlee Kay (Jamie) Hines of Collinsville, Ill.; grandchildren, James Benton Hines IV, Kayla Irene Sidener, Slade Vaughn Hines, Lindsey Ann Reid and Raleigh Michelle Hines, all of Collinsville; two stepgrandchildren, Jason (Kim) Reid and Adam Reid; a great-stepgrandchild, Parker Reid; a stepsister, Katie Chasteen; special companions, Rea Baxter of Lawrence, Kan., Vivian Bennett and Mike Dolan Sr. of St. Louis; former wife, Edith Ann Tripp Stone of East St. Louis, Ill.; special friend, Peanut; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Aaron and Lela Agnes Cauhorn Stone; stepfather, William H. Zimmerman; stepbrother, Ralph Zimmerman; and stepsister, Virginia Zimmerman.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

A memorial service will be held at noon Friday at the chapel, with Norman Brant officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Memorial Cemetery with full military honors by Missouri Honor Guard.
