Charles L. Southard, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born May 19, 1918, in St. Louis, son of Lawrence A. and Katherine Albrecht Southard. He and Catherine Kittel were married July 13, 1955, in St. Louis.
Southard was a salesman at Biederman Furniture in St. Louis. He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, Knights of Columbus, and Eagles Aerie.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Lee Chesnick of Old Appleton, Mo.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the chapel, with Msgr. Richard Rolwing officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
