Charles F. Schrader, age 84, of Cape Girardeau passed away Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. He was born Nov. 6, 1920, in Cape Girardeau, son of Frederick W. and Anna E. Brandes Schrader. He and Mary I. Brazeal were married Aug. 8, 1942. She passed away Jan. 27, 2003...

Charles F. Schrader, age 84, of Cape Girardeau passed away Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born Nov. 6, 1920, in Cape Girardeau, son of Frederick W. and Anna E. Brandes Schrader. He and Mary I. Brazeal were married Aug. 8, 1942. She passed away Jan. 27, 2003.

Charles was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.

He served in the U.S. Army in the 129th Armored Infantry Division from 1942 to 1945 during World War II.

He participated in the D-Day invasion at Omaha Beach, France, receiving the Jubilee of Liberty Award and a Purple Heart.

Charles worked as a sales manager for Moon Distributing Co., retiring in 1982 after 37 years of employment.

Loving survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Joe Bob and Betty Schrader of Eureka, Mo.; three daughters and a son-in-law, Judy Lueders and Jayne Schrader, both of Cape Girardeau, and Carol and Steve Emery of Smithfield, Va.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and an infant grandson.

Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau, and after 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church.

The funeral will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Douglas Breite officiating. Interment will follow in Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau with graveside military honors.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Trinity Lutheran School Building Fund or Trinity Lutheran Church Living Hope TV Ministry, 100 N. Frederick St., Cape Girardeau, 63701.
