JACKSON -- Charles Robert Fatchett, 75, died Thursday, May 4, 1995, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Feb. 19, 1920, at Jackson, son of Charles and Amanda Wallace Fatchett. He and Opal Lybarger were married June 24, 1949.
Fatchett was a teacher and football coach at Perryville from 1945-53, in Pana, Ill., from 1953-61, and in Crystal Lake, Ill., from 1961-80. He retired and moved to Jackson in 1983.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Cape County Disabled American Veterans Chapter 16, and Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post 158. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Shawn Jonsson of Fenton, Marsha Brown of New Castle, Wyo.; a brother, Norman Fatchett of Alton, Ill.; a sister, Grace Wolters of Jackson; three granddaughters, and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill Ellis officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
