CHARLES PORTER JR.

PERRYVILLE -- Charles F. Porter Jr., 65, of Perryville died Monday, June 23, 1997, at Vencor Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born Aug. 29, 1931, in Ste. Genevieve County, son of Charles Franklin and Eva Fry Porter Sr. He and Anna Mae Clampitt were married Jan. 14, 1956.

Porter was a bus driver and mechanic 17 years with Meyer Bus Line, and was currently a part time truck driver with Perry County Highway Department. He was a member of Cedar Fork Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Randal Porter of Ste. Genevieve; three daughters, Kimberly McDonald, Brenda Laughlin and Tammy Whistler, all of Perryville; six sisters, Nadine Rayoum, Ruby Staffens, Elvie Staffens and Ruth Barron, all of Ste. Genevieve, Mary Allen and Leona Brandel of Perryville; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a sister.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. today, and Thursday from 6:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Fork Church, with Stan Murphy officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
