MOREHOUSE -- Charles O. Rauch, 87, of Morehouse died Saturday, Sept. 14, 1996, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Oct. 21, 1908, in Morehouse, to the late Frederick Bachman and Cora Florence Kesling Rauch. He graduated from Morehouse High School in 1926, attended the St. Louis College of Pharmacy from 1926 until 1928 when he became a licensed pharmacist and became owner and operator of the family drugstore until his retirement in 1976...

MOREHOUSE -- Charles O. Rauch, 87, of Morehouse died Saturday, Sept. 14, 1996, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 21, 1908, in Morehouse, to the late Frederick Bachman and Cora Florence Kesling Rauch. He graduated from Morehouse High School in 1926, attended the St. Louis College of Pharmacy from 1926 until 1928 when he became a licensed pharmacist and became owner and operator of the family drugstore until his retirement in 1976.

He had been the treasurer of Rauch-Spence Memorial United Methodist Church in Morehouse, had attended Grace United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau, was a 50-year member and past-president of the Morehouse Kiwanis Club and was a former board member of the Morehouse Housing Authority.

He had served as an assistant scoutmaster of the Morehouse Boy Scout Troop and a former member of the Sikeston Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship Association.

He married Mary J. Davis, who survives him, on June 22, 1930, in St. Louis.

He is survived by a son, Bill Rauch of Chaffee; a daughter, Rosemary Lumsden of Morehouse; a sister, Frances Barnett of Cape Girardeau; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral chapel, with the Revs. Larry Gallamore and Jerry Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
