Charles Moody, 78, of Cape Girardeau departed this life Sunday, April 19, 2015, at his home.
He was born Sept. 12, 1936, near Concord, Missouri, son of Henry Moody and Ann Moody Reichert.
Charles graduated from Caruthersville, Missouri, High School. He then joined the United States Air Force and proudly served his country four years.
He and Carolyn Jones were married Jan. 25, 1959.
After service to his country, he began a career in the automobile parts department for Cain Motor in Caruthersville and later worked for Monan Motor Co. He ended his career by retiring from Chuck Hutton of Memphis, Tennessee.
He was an avid reader and loved history. He was of the Baptist belief.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Moody, and a host of other family members and friends.
Service for Charles was April 21 at H.S. Smith Funeral Home in Caruthersville, with Kenny Lee officiating. Interment was in Little Prairie Cemetery in Caruthersville.
