MORGANTON, N.C. -- Charles "Charlie" Frederick Moeller, 88, of Morganton passed away Monday, Aug. 1, 2022. Born in Sikeston, Missouri, April 24, 1934, he was the son of the late Walter W. and Stella M. Moeller of Cape Girardeau. He was committed to serving his church, New Covenant Lutheran Church. His hobbies included family, camping, canoeing, fishing and gardening...

MORGANTON, N.C. -- Charles "Charlie" Frederick Moeller, 88, of Morganton passed away Monday, Aug. 1, 2022.

Born in Sikeston, Missouri, April 24, 1934, he was the son of the late Walter W. and Stella M. Moeller of Cape Girardeau. He was committed to serving his church, New Covenant Lutheran Church. His hobbies included family, camping, canoeing, fishing and gardening.

Charlie served with the 175th Military Police, Missouri National Guard. He retired as president of the Western North Carolina Rural Hospital Alliance in 1995.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joyce A. Moeller; daughters, Debra (Robert) Martin and Pamela (David) Story; grandchildren, Noelle Martin, Jacob Martin, Gabby Miller and Spencer Story; great-grandchildren, Landon, Gaven, Aden, Grayson, Lynkin and Kennedy.

In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by a son, Christian Frederick Moeller.

A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, Charlie requested memorial contributions be made to New Covenant Lutheran Church in Morganton.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center in Morganton is assisting the family with the arrangements.
