PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Charles W. McClure, 90, of Perryville died Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 24, 1920, in Perry County, son of Walter and Albertine Kiefer McClure. He and Viola M. Porter were married June 11, 1943, in Fredericktown, Mo. She preceded him in death Nov. 20, 1995.
Mr. McClure was a laborer at Mississippi Lime Co. and member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
Survivors include four daughters, Wanda Vaughn of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., Norma Ullman, Rosalie Thieret and Nancy Schmidt, all of Perryville; two sons, William McClure of Farmington, Mo., Terry McClure of Sedgewickville, Mo.; a brother, Cecil McClure of Eureka, Mo.; four sisters, Alta Heilig of Koshkonong, Mo., Ethel Staffen of Ste. Genevieve, Betty Heilig of Illinois, Dolores Weise of St. Louis; 20 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, seven brothers, a sister, a son-in-law and a grandchild.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and 6:30 to 11:50 a.m. Saturday at Miller Family Funeral Home. The parish wake will be at 6 p.m. today. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Saturday.
The funeral will be at noon Saturday at St. Vincent's Church, with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, with graveside military honors courtesy of American Legion and Delta Team.
Memorials may be made to charity of choice.
