Charles A. Lee Jr., 86, of St. Louis, formerly of Glendale, Mo., died Good Friday, March 25, 2005, at Delmar Gardens West in St. Louis.
He was born April 18, 1918, in Lamar, Mo., oldest of four sons of Dr. Charles and Inez Long Lee. He and Betty Roth were married April 10, 1948.
Albert graduated from Webster Groves High School and Washington University Law School. He practiced law in St. Louis 56 years, retiring in 2002.
He served three years in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during World War II.
Albert was a member of Missouri Bar Association, National Parks Conservation Association, Missouri Conservation Association and Phi Delta Theta fraternity.
He was a hunter, fisherman, conservationist, woodworker, vegetable gardener and tree farmer. His passion was his tree farm, Piney-Mo, in Texas County, Mo.
He is survived by three daughters, Suzanne Lee Oaks (Robert) of Neptune Beach, Fla., Janet Lee Brown (Daniel) of Page, Ariz., Alice Lee Gustin (Melvin) of Riverton, Wyo.; two brothers, Lloyd L. Lee of Orinda, Calif., and Dr. Gerald B. Lee of Kansas City, Mo. He was the grandfather of Bill and Rachel Oaks, Sarah and Jessica Brown, Margo, Michael and Mary Gustin; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. Robert E. Lee.
There is no local visitation.
Friends and relatives will celebrate his life at a memorial service Saturday at 11 a.m. at First Congregation Church at Lockwood and Elm in Webster Groves. Private burial will be in Sikeston, Mo.
