JACKSON, Mo. -- Charles D. Langston, 76, of Jackson died Monday, Aug. 7, 2000, at his home.
He was born Nov. 22, 1923, in Cape Girardeau, son of Charlie and Mary Lou Leeds Langston.
Langston was employed many years by city of Cape Girardeau as cemetery superintendent. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Cape Girardeau.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Survivors include three sons, Charles Langston Jr. of Broadway, N.C., Jackie Langston of Sikeston, Mo., William Langston of Dexter, Mo.; three daughters, Trudy Reynolds of Fairmont, N.C., Rosa Lee Langston of Jackson, Dixie Langston of Piedmont, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter and two sons.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Friends may call Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. to service time.
McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.
