Charles Wilber King, 61, died Sunday, March 23, 1997, at Parkview Memorial Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was born Sept. 23, 1935, in Cape Girardeau, son of Perry and Evelyn Abernathy King Sr.
King had been a maintenance worker with Hickory Mill Apartments in Fort Wayne, the city of Cape Girardeau, and at the former Superior Electric Co. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his father of Chicago; four sisters, Millie Mays, Ruth Cato and Lois Daye of Fort Wayne, Deborah King of Chicago; eight brothers, Franklin Baker of Fort Wayne, Emmett Baker Jr. of Cape Girardeau, Rodney Baker of Atlanta, Ga., Perry Jr., Horace, Sylvester, Farris and Charles King, all of Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his mother and two brothers.
Friends may call at Second Missionary Baptist Church from 6-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 9 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Wiley Reed officiating. Burial will be in Mound City National Cemetery in Mound City, Ill.
Algee Memorial Chapel in Cairo, Ill., is in charge of arrangements.
