Charles Howell, son of the late Pleat Elvin and Mildred Jeanette Leggett Howell, was born April 12, 1943, in Cape Girardeau and departed this life Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2020, at his home in Delta at the age of 77 years.
Charles worked in construction all of his life.
On Dec. 18, 1965, he was united in marriage to Joyce Fay Menz in Kankakee, Illinois. She survives of the home.
Besides his wife, other survivors include sons, Gary Jensen and Ricky Jensen, both of Kankakee County, Illinois, and Mitchell Hester of Delta; daughter, Patricia (Dusty) Cook of Kankakee; brothers, Bobby (Barb) Howell and Roy (Jackie) Howell, all of Bradley, Illinois, Johnny (Kathy) Howell and Steve (Bonnie) Howell, all of Hoopston, Illinois, and Frank (Rhonda) Howell of Bourbonnais, Illinois; sisters, Patsy (Ruben) Menz of Bourbonnais, Gladys (Bill) O'Brian of Chebanse, Illinois, Francis (Don) Dandurand of Bradly, Illinois, Peggy (Ron) Groff of Bourbonnais, Brenda (Eddie) Boyd of Bradley, Thelma (Jim) Dexter of Bradley, Wanda (Bill) Norton of Kankakee and Linda (Eugene) Poynter of Bradley; also numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Charles was preceded in death by a son, Steve Jenson; sister, Pansy Menz; and brother-in-law, Red Menz.
Visitation was held Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Missouri.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Kenyon Cemetery near Delta.
