CAIRO, Ill. -- Charles A. "Chuck" Holman, 68, of Cairo died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born on Feb. 22, 1932 at Hickman, Ky., son of Aubrey and Daughty Goodman Holman. He and Mary Lee Payne were married Dec. 27, 1954, at Union City, Tenn.
He served in the Army during the Korean War and was a member of Cairo Baptist Church.
In 1970, he began working as a procurement and contracts manager for Fluor Daniel Engineering and Construction Co. of Houston, Texas. He retired in February 1999.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Jerry Don of Fort Knox, Ky.; a daughter, Amber Holman of Cairo; a brother, John Holman of Cairo; a sister, Imogene Danforth of Mississippi; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son and a brother.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. today at Cairo Baptist Church until the funeral at 1 p.m. The Rev. Larry Potts will officiate. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Charleston, Mo.
