JACKSON -- Charles G. Hestand Jr., 57, of Jackson died Tuesday, June 24, 1997, at his home.
He was born Aug. 18, 1939, in Herrin, Ill., son of Charles G. and Gladys Phillips Hestand. He and Teresa Ann Hensler were married Nov. 3, 1967, in Belleville, Ill.
Hestand was a self-employed autobody repairman, and served in the U.S. Navy. He was a former member of Elks Lodge in Herrin, and Belleville Jaycees.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Charles Hestand Braner and Rodney Hestand Braner of Martinsburg, W.Va., Charles "Chuck" Hestand III and Jason Hestand of Jackson; two daughters, Marguerite Rockwell of Martinsburg, Denise Hestand of Jackson; two sisters, Lola Turner and Margaret Benjamin of Odin, Ill., and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and a grandchild.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Howard McGee officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
