Charles Henry "Bud" Stockman, 83, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Jan. 14, 2000, at the Beverly Health and Rehab Center.
He was born Nov. 12, 1916, at Belleville, Ill., son of Simin and Alma Schmidt Stockman.
He and Betty Butler were married Aug. 1, 1947, at Jackson. She died April 19, 1999.
He was a member of the Light House Baptist Church. He worked for Cape Paint and Glass and later for Florsheim Shoe Co. before retirement.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army, and was retired from the U.S. Army Reserve. He was a member of the VFW Post 3838.
Survivors include two sons, Chuck Stockman of Desoto and William K. Stockman of Dayton, Ohio; two sisters, Cecilia Barret of Marble Hill and Jerry Rhen of Rhems, Pa.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call at from 4-8 p.m. Monday Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel.
Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Charles Mayrand officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery, with military rites conducted by VFW Post 3838.
