PATTON -- Charles Henry Doerge III, 58, of Patton, died Monday, Sept. 13, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 28, 1935, in East St. Louis, Ill., son of Charles Henry and Rose Marie Powell Jr. He and Betty Jean Stokes were married Jan. 26, 1957, in Hernando, Miss.
Doerge was an air traffic controller 26 years. Prior to that he was a Cape Girardeau County deputy two years, and a captain with Cape Girardeau Auxiliary Police 12 years.
He was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church, Wood Carvers Association, was active in Boy Scouts and was currently serving on the board at Patton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Charles Doerge IV of St. Louis, Michael Doerge of Marion, Ill.; two daughters, Jamie Byrne of Lancaster, Pa., Scottye Williams of Paducah, Ky.; his mother of Patton, and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel.
Friends may call Wednesday at the funeral home from noon to service time.
