SCOTT CITY -- Charles Franklin Simmons, 55, of Scott City died Wednesday, Oct. 7, at the family home in Scott City.
He was born in Delta Nov. 2, 1936, to Leo and Beulah Surface Simmons. They both survive of Chaffee.
On Jan. 21, 1960, he married Mary June Harrell. She survives of the home.
He was a retired truck driver and heavy equipment operator for Kamulduska Excavating Service in Granite City, Ill. He had lived in Scott City the past five years, coming from Granite City.
He was a member of the City Temple Assembly of God in Granite City.
Besides his parents and wife, survivors include two sons, Timothy Michael Simmons of Kelso, and Terry Randall Simmons of Scott City; two daughters, Tana Michele Crapnell of Chaffee, and Tara Lyn Simmons of Scott City; three sisters, Virgie Krauft of Cape Girardeau, Mabel Schaefer of Scott City and Doris Spencer of Fruitland; one granddaughter and one stepgranddaughter.
He was preceded in death by one brother.
Friends may call at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 5 p.m. Friday. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Officiating with be the Rev. Ed Shemwell.
Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
