Charles Ray Drew, 82, of Delta passed away Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018, at Advance Nursing Center, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born June 23, 1936, in Bell City, Missouri to the late Joe and Goldie Arnold Drew. He married Barbara Louise Hurst on Oct. 19, 1957, and she survives of the home.

Charles was a retired grain elevator manager with Cargill Inc. He was a graduate of Bell City High School, where he was active in sports. He loved fishing, hunting and Cardinals baseball. He especially loved coon and dove hunting. Charles later took up gardening and came out of retirement to play fast-pitch softball with his son. He had deep appreciation for all animals, especially his dogs.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Drew, of nearly 61 years; a son, Brian (Kim) Drew of Delta; a sister, Vivian Brown of Delta; three grandchildren, Holt Horrell, Jessica Wasson and Amanda Masters; and two great-grandchildren, Drew and Hannah Wasson.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Karen McCain; four brothers; and a sister.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Missouri.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Don Leggett officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Morley, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
