BELL CITY -- Funeral for Charles L. Cossou of Bell City will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance. The Rev. David Swindell will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Bell City.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:30-8 p.m. today.
Cossou, 88, died Tuesday, July 13, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 21, 1910, at Bell City, son of Clyde and Phoebe Oakley Cossou. He and Maud Overbey were married Jan. 30, 1932, at Benton.
Cossou was a retired farmer, and member of Lakeville Lodge 489 AF&AM.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jerry Cossou of Welch, Okla., Mike Cossou of Kelso; two daughters, Jane Bollinger and Janet Nesler of Bell City; a brother, R.C. Cossou of Gordonville; two sisters, Lois Albers of St. Charles, Mich., Ruth Hurley of Cape Girardeau; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
